What We're U.P. to (we're so punny)
February 3rd 2015- Century 21 Presentation
On February 3rd, we presented to real estate agents at the Houghton Century 21 office and educated them about how japanese knotweed can damage property and lower the value of it. None of the agents had prior knowledge of this plant, but after our presentation several believe they've seen the plant in our area and are spreading the word to other agents in Keweenaw, Ontanogon and Baraga Counties.
February 4th 2015 - Teleconference with Michigan State University Extension
We were able to share our project via teleconference with MSUE county directors from across the state (hosted by Houghton County MSUE director Mike Schira). A link to an online article featuring our project is below:

February 24th 2015 - Off to MDOT
On Tuesday February 24th we're off to Ishpeming, MI to educate the Michigan Department Of Transportation (MDOT) about how they help prevent the spread of japanese knotweed. MDOT representatives from around the U.P. will be at the presentation.
March 18th 2015 - Lansing, MI
Wow! We've been invited to speak in Lansing at the Senate NRC meeting. Senator Casperson will be there, along with other members of the Committee to hear about our work with knotweed and our concern about its spread. What an amazing opportunity!
